Madeline Buffin


ROCKIE HILL, CT - Madeline Buffin, 74, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Rockie Hill Rehabilitation Center in Rockie Hill, CT. She was formerly a resident of Voluntown, CT.
     Mrs. Buffin was born April 9, 1936, to Paul and Eva Clifford in New London, CT. She was married to Robert Buffin, and they raised three children, Robert, Robin and Gary in Jewett City.
     She was a great wife, mother and grandmother with a heart of gold to everyone. She worked hard for many years and then started her own bakery in Jewett City. She also served her church by doing the cleaning for many years.
     Mrs. Buffin was a gracious hostess who enjoyed sharing with family and friends. She loved gospel and country music and played keyboard, organ and guitar. She loved her family, her animals and her home where she cultivated beautiful flower gardens.
     She is survived by her two children; two sisters, Charlotte Beique and her husband Francis, and Donna Loveless and her husband David of Florida; two brothers, Dean Clifford of Connecticut, and Norman “Neil” Clifford of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Clifford of Oxford and Satchco Clifford of Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.
     Mrs. Buffin was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son Robert, three brothers and one sister.
     She will be missed by all who loved her dearly. She has gone to a better place with the Lord she loved.
     A graveside service was held July 8, at Union Cemetery in Quaker Hill.
