Norma Jean (Zayac) Merris

OXFORD - Norma Jean (Zayac) Merris, 70, of Oxford died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris. She was born in New York City on January 16, 1940, the daughter of Andrew and Irene (Belanger) Zayac.
     She graduated in 1957 from Wilham Cullen Bryant in Long Island City, NY. She moved to Maine from NY in 1985. She worked at Isaac and Raymond Law Firm in Lewiston until her retirement.
     She liked reading and writing letters to friends. Her family and friends were very important to her.
     Mrs. Merris is survived by her son, Scott Merris of Oxford; sister, Andrea Martin of Queens, NY; two nieces, Allyson Martin of Bayside, NY and Melissa Martin of Long Island, NY and several cousins in the Oxford Hills area.
     A burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Oxford at a later date. In lieu of flowers family and friends are welcome to make a donation in her memory to National Down Syndrome Society, 666 Broadway, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10012.
