Helen Ayer Grundberg
EVERETT, MA - Helen Ayer Grundberg passed away on January 20, 2010 in her 94th year in Everett, MA. She was born September 9, 1915, and grew up in the Greenwood section of Wakefield, MA, graduating from Wakefield High School in 1933. She worked in the Boston Merchants National Bank’s Foreign Department and Stoneham Savings Bank. Mrs. Grundberg lived in Stoneham after marrying Edwin Nils Grundberg and upon retirement they spent winters in Boynton Beach, FL, and summers in Otisfield. Her husband died in 1980. Later, several years were spent with her loving friend, Franklyn H. Goldsmith in Melbourne, FL, and Raymond. After his death Mrs. Grundberg was taken care of by her niece, Barbara Jean Valeri and spouse Paul Valeri in Everett, MA. She is survived by her sister, Barbara-Ann Giannantonio of Everett, MA and Otisfield; her niece, Carol; nephew, Orville Douglas Eddy and great-grandnieces and nephew, Patrick Valeri, Laura Valeri and Orlando Giannantonio. Mrs. Grundberg was predeceased by her mother and father, Laura and Telfer Harrison Ayer, and sister Marjorie Ayer Burbine. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 31, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church.
